La Fresh oil free face cleansing wipes

5 Nov

Alrighty so i know i talked a bit about these in my Ipsy October post but that was before i use them. Here is what i think.

I love the ingredients for sure, so many great things for your skin.

I LOVE the feeling you get after you use them. Your face feels so firm but soft and moisturized (because of the marshmallow probably) and it smells GREAT. You feel so awake and relaxed and just… Nice.

Then night came around and i saw that i had tiny little areas where i have broken out. Erg. Now, it was unpleasant, yes, but my face cleared up the next day and all was well. But i haven’t used it since and I’ve only used it once. Maybe ill try again in the future because i really loved these wipes but i guess they weren’t made for my skin. I might use them as a sort of mask, washing my face after to get rid of any lasting effects that caused any tiny breakouts.

Ipsy October 2013

Hello Beauty

I signed up back in August for my birthday and was on the wait-list but i finally am a member now! I was sad i missed Septembers though because it looked like it had some pretty freakin awesome stuff but I’m happy none the less.

My bag contained :

A wet n wild Fergie collection eyeshadow palette in Desert Festival

A Sexy hair blow dry gel

A coastal scents medium shadow brush

LA Fresh face wipes

Zoya nail polish

Now, i love nail polish, addicted to it really, but the three colors they gave out this month weren’t anything too special in my opinion because i have so many like them already. I got the blue one and i must admit it looks much prettier on than in the bottle. So thats good.

I was disappointed that i got face wipes, i mean i can buy them when i go grocery shopping and they are all pretty much the same. But then i read that back of the package where it listed that it contained things like cucumber, aloe vera, vit e and c, and other good things for your face skin. They are not so much ‘makeup remover’ wipes as they are face refreshing wipes and i like that. Theres only ten in a pack though.

I have been wanting a coastal scents brush for Soo long now and this is probably my favorite out of the whole bag. It really does make a difference in how my eyeshadow looks when compared to my ELF brushes. And its so soft!

I wish i didn’t get the blow dry gel because ever since i started using my new shampoo and conditioner (hydra recharge) that Bzzagent sent me, i haven’t needed to blow dry my hair because it dries within 15 minutes now which is quite the feat since i have REALLY long and thick hair. Plus, i have a blood volume problem so whenever i do blow dry my hair, my arms go paralyzed after three minutes. Literally.

The eyeshadow palette is really cool because it has colors i will actually wear. There is a really nice coral color and some browns and tans. One color i even used as highlighter on my cheeks because its my skin color but with a really pretty sheen.

The theme this month was Art of Beauty and the bag was white with pink cursive writing.

All in all, it wasn’t too bad for my first Ipsy bag. But lets hope next month is even better.

Ta ta,

(ah)Em Cosmetics by Michelle Phan

11 Oct

Let me start this out by saying i love, LOVE Michelle Phan and cannot get enough of her… Er… You know what i mean.

She’s brilliant! In many ways. Not only is she amazingly talented with makeup and style, shes a total video game nerd and i love that about her. Plus, shes very inspiring and goes after her dreams.

Now she has released a makeup line! Oh my gosh, how exciting! I was so stoked when she announced it and still am excited for her but theres just one thing…a lot of the stuff is just so *ahem* expensive.

Dont get me wrong, i know that usually means higher quality but if you just released the line, wouldn’t it be best to see how well everything sells and the reaction of buyers first before having them go for such a big price. (A life palette is around 70? Dollars i believe)

There definitely a few things (okay, a lot) that i would LOVE to get from Em like the contour/highlight stick (which is genius) and the pillow plush lip balm. And of course the life palettes, the design is just awesome. But i just cant drop that kind of money like that which is a bit disappointing but who knows what the future holds 🙂

If i ever do end up buying something from Em ill be sure to write about it.

Until next time-
Byeeee for now my lovely’s

Forever 21 birthday haul!

6 Oct

Its my birthday! Okay, well a month ago it was my birthday, but everything has been crazy and i never got to share with you the pretty things i got on a bday shopping spree at Forever 21!

I never like ‘haul’ videos or blogs much, but now i kind of get it. Maybe after seeing what i got and what i think of it, this post could help influence or inspire your next shopping urge 🙂

I only had the chance to photograph a few of the outfits but when i do, ill be sure to update.

This is actually a skirt and blouse but they work so well together that the look like a dress. I have been wanting a skirt like this for ages now and am so happy i finally have one. The shirt though, was just something i found hiding in the back of the store and i almost walked by, but there was a nagging feeling that this shirt could be amazing annnd i was right! I love it.

Now, i wore this to a dinner that night and although it was pretty cool outside, that skirt traps heat so much you could start to feel kinda gross and a little sweaty.

The blouse wasnt bad at all, but the buttons take soo loonng to do up and undo and if you eating or doin things involving your hands than i suggest you get someone to help unbutton the buttons on the sleeves so you can roll they up and keep em clean and out of the way. (Trust me you will need help with the buttons, they were designed by satan. They look cute though).

This isnt the best photo to give this dress justice because this dress is BEAUTIFUL. There were two patterns it came in but this one takes the cake. At least for me. Its very wispy so it trapping heat isnt a problem at all. If you have more of a ‘ahem’ chest, then i advise you wear a bra or tank top that can cover the important bits.

This dress is one of my favorites. Its so flattering and i love the way its shaped. The fabric feels so soft and amazing.

Bonus photo of my AWESOME HP cake!!!

L.A Colors pencil Eyeliner

23 Feb

Good morning, afternoon or evening. A lot of people ask me what is my go-to eyeliner so i thought id work up a quick review for you all.

My favorite (so far) eyeliner that i use is LA Colors Pencil Eyeliner in black. It was about a dollar for a pack of two at the Dollar General and i honestly first bought it as a last minute liner emergency and thought it would turn out to be sort of crappy. How wrong i was. This liner goes on so smoothly, so easily. Its a perfect shade of black and it lasts for quite a while. Its not waterproof, but it doesn’t smear. I have been using this liner everyday for about three years now and i plan to continue unless something else proves to be better.

I also love that its not very big so its easy to take with you on the go.

So, thats my favorite eyeliner and review of said liner. Maybe you’l decide to give it a try. Let me know what is your favorite eyeliner in the comments below, id love to try them.

Sensationail Gel Polish

10 Feb

Sensationail Gel Polish

I have a bad habit. I always pick at my nails. So for as long as i can remember, my nails were non existent. I tried painting them to make them look pretty so i wouldn’t want to pick at them but it didn’t stop me. This Christmas my mother got me Sensationail Gel Polish in this really beautiful light pink color. I have been wanting to try out a gel polish for a while now because i thought it would stop me from picking my nails, seeing as how it dries to be hard as a rock.

It worked. And now i have long and beautiful nails. I am definitely happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone. It is a little pricey so i suggest asking for it for your birthday or special event if you don’t have the money to just go out and buy the kit. Yes, you have to buy the kit for it to work. Ill explain:

The kit includes one LED lamp/light, one nail cleanser, a packet of lint free wipes, one nail file and cuticle stick, one nail primer, one nail base and top coat, and one nail polish color.

The bottles of polish/primer etc only last for around 10 manicures so if you run out or want a new color then you can of course buy them separately from the LED lamp.

Each manicure lasts for about two weeks, I’ve tested it. It doesn’t chip and you can do anything with your hands from cooking, building, dipping your hands in boiling water (i dont suggest this) to sticking your fingers in snow and your nails stay looking freshly polished. Theres no drying time, so you dont have to wait to do anything after youve manicured.

The kit comes with instructions but here is a simple How To anyway:

File and buff your nails.

Using the cleanser and lint free wipes, clean your nails.

Apply nail primer and air dry.

Apply nail base and top coat, capping your nail and cure in LED light for 30 seconds.

Apply nail polish color, capping your nail and cure for 60 seconds.

Apply one more coat of color and cure for 60 seconds.

Apply nail base and top coat and cure for 30 seconds.

Wipe away moisture using lint free wipes and nail cleanser.

Enjoy those beautiful, healthy looking nails.
